Poor-Boys --- Rare 2.0T Quattro A4
I know I said we where doing a Daytona Violet e36 M3 this Sunday, but plans changed somewhat and we ended up doing and Audi A4 2.0T Quattro apparently 1 of only 3 in SA?
This car looked pretty good when we first started with it, but as we cleaned we started to see the swirls and RDS's, and boy where there loads of them ALL over. This car is only 4 months old and the owner says that it was delivered with the swirls and a very nice scratch on the boot, some of the regulars here know who did the pre delivery detail on this car....... ![]() Some pre wash pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Again I washed while Megesh tackled the wheels.... and yes, we had a photographer ![]() ![]() ![]() dirty rinse bucket again ![]() ![]() After the wash, we got straight to drying with the Adams Waffle Weave Drying Towels ![]() ![]() As you can see from this pic..... its easy to take photo's of a car with loads of swirls and make it look good, I suppose the swirl removal ability of the Shield orbital is at question here ![]() ![]() Now for some swirls..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After Claying and taping it was time to start the task of correcting those swirls, a much easier job with the help of the Flex ![]() I thought I would tape off a section of the bootlid and do a 50/50 ![]() result after 1 go with a light cutting pad and Menzerna SIP ![]() ![]() Megesh then took over with the Flex, and I hit all the small areas like: Mirrors before: ![]() Working ![]() Putting in some serious concentration ![]() ![]() and then the after pics ![]() ![]() The B pillar was also very badly swirled, only took after pics though ![]() ![]() Number plates de-swirled ![]() and bumpers ![]() Just so you know who we are ![]() ![]() 1 pic taken before LSP ![]() And finally, we topped off with Chemical Guys - Extreme Top Coat Paint Sealant with Carnuaba ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just excuse the drop of water that ran down the bumper in the pic ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() freerider AKA don |

Excellent work. Every flex post gets me more excited. But i like what you say about making a swirled car look good, its the truth.
Also any news on the Vikan wheel brushes? I see your still using the old Megs. Im sure you can do much better then that. Of btw, why is this thing so rare? Just looks like a regular Audi to me. |

Its just slightly shorter than the Megs one, so Megesh was using that for the longer reach to the back of the rims. IMHO, this is your best correction work to date. Ok, maybe not seeing that you have been working on silver since Poor-Boys was established.
The brothers in the reflection shot seem to be happy with the results. |

Well done guys - nothing like a black car to display how you two have honed your technique.
One comment though - Megesh, you need to lose your pants bro. No, I'm not asking you to do a strip show, but the zips in those pockets would freak me out. They are at just the right height to instil some nice RDS as you accidently brush against the car whilst working on the roof ![]() |

I highly doubt you will have much effect on swirls like that by hand applied polish alone freerider AKA don |

Great results guys. From far off the paint looked good until you showed the close up swirl shots. But the after shots really showed what a difference a professional detail can make.

I dont really hold an opinion of the G220, The Makita is very good, and has served me well over the last 8 months and is still going strong. The flex is on a new level for us, it is slightly more of a bastid to work with because of the direct drive system (likes to munch pads if you go over something raised) you have to be more aware of what you are doing with it, The makita on the other hand has the option of switching between direct drive or normal DA, I have always used mine in normal mode and get very good results with it, the only thing that the flex has 1 up on the Makita is when it comes to time consumed doing the same job!
