RE: Your prayers are needed - freerider - 08-05-2009 09:40 PM Thanks for keeping us up to date Dave. Glad to hear everything went well. RE: Your prayers are needed - Liqui-Moly - 09-05-2009 06:54 AM Good to hear he is doing ok. And thanks for the update. RE: Your prayers are needed - Carn - 09-05-2009 01:36 PM Okidoki, just gotten back from the hospital after visiting with the family. Grant took a turn for the worse this am but is slightly better at present. He will be going in for another small procedure later today if he's up to it and will then be put on dialysis as his kidneys are struggling. Family says thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, keep them coming! RE: Your prayers are needed - freerider - 09-05-2009 02:10 PM Oh no! Lets hope he kicks it in the butt! Get better soon Granty! RE: Your prayers are needed - Edlover - 10-05-2009 11:29 AM Carn, really sorry to hear dude. May he make a quick and speedy recovery, God willing. and may his family and friends have the strength to get through this tough time. RE: Your prayers are needed - Carn - 10-05-2009 06:20 PM Thanks again guys He stabalised last night and is doing better today but is still on dialysis, will update as I get news or go see him RE: Your prayers are needed - freerider - 11-05-2009 07:10 AM Good to hear that he stabilised, thanks for keeping us in the loop dave. RE: Your prayers are needed - Carn - 11-05-2009 08:37 PM I just got in after swinging past the hospital on my way home and there haven't been much changes. He is still sedated but should hopefull be coming off the sedation over the next day or so. He had a shower (of sorts) and a shave today so he's looking spiffy again for the nurses and the weekends tracheotomy and dialysis all went well. The surgeon/doc's have said Grant will be spending at least another 2 weeks in the ICU before they even think of moving him and we can expect much of the same (ups and downs) but he is stable at the moment and doing OK. His kidneys appear to have come back online briefly today but nothing since this morning. RE: Your prayers are needed - Liqui-Moly - 11-05-2009 08:44 PM We are making progress. I hope he is alright. Mike RE: Your prayers are needed - freerider - 11-05-2009 08:46 PM Man, this is really scary stuff! Grant, I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say that we are all wishing you a speedy recovery. RE: Your prayers are needed - Carn - 11-05-2009 08:58 PM Thanks guys, as soon as he is awake again I will pass on all the well wishes RE: Your prayers are needed - Woodie - 12-05-2009 08:33 AM Dave - please pass my best wishes on to Grant and his family. RE: Your prayers are needed - Lambchop - 04-06-2009 04:04 PM This is really horrible news :-( I dont even know what to say ...:-( RE: Your prayers are needed - springbok - 04-06-2009 06:04 PM This is really sad sad news indeed. Dave, my condolences, buddy. I am sure I speak for all of us when we say that our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones at this time. RIP Grant. RE: Your prayers are needed - Carn - 04-06-2009 10:10 PM As most of you are already aware, Grant left us this afternoon. Despite him putting up the fight of his life he has sadly passed onto bigger and better things. Granty I am at a loss for words, there are so many things I now wish I had said and done differently while I had the chance. In all the ways that mattered you were like a brother to me, we had so many things in common it was uncanny. I will miss your companionship and the way you always seemed to bring out the best in people, myself included. If there is one person in this world that I am truly glad I met and had the pleasure of spending time with, it was you. You are one of the very few people today who always put others 1st regardless of the troubles you faced in your own life. If there is anyone worthy of aspiring to be like it is you, always cheerfull, always willing to lend a hand and always kind, caring and selfless. You will be sorely missed, not only by all those who have had the pleasure of knowing you, but also those who will never have the chance to. When I look up into the evening sky I know you will be up there, busy making the world a better place for all of us. RIP my friend, until we meet again. |
