Get yourself some distilled water, and prime the applicator pad with about 4 squirts before you start applying product, I find that this prevents excessive product soaking into the dry pad, and also wets the product slightly, making it easier to apply. You will find that as the pad gets primed with product, you can start doing more surface area with less product
