Who said you have to be rational when appraising LSPs? Rule of thumb, the more expensive, the better Bluebiggrin

Jokes aside, I am sure Lambchop will chime in. If I recall correctly, I think he had issues with buffing the 476. I think he posted a review of the two paste waxes earlier this year.

RE: Collinite launch promo
From what i've briefly read online:
"In terms of durability, the 476s lasts an average of one month longer than the 915.
The 915 has more carnauba wax in the formula, and its finishing result is a warmer shine, and it is slightly easier to work with.

The 476s is the most durable product offered by Collinite, which is why it requires a little more rubbing and elbow grease."

RE: Collinite launch promo
Hi Guys

If some of you recall .. Myself and Don brought 12 tins of each ( 915 and 476 )
Im sure Don could also add some imput to the thread

The 915 is by far the better of the 2 .. The application and the removal of the wax is alot easier . The size of the tin is alot more .. The Durability is better aswell .. I know the 476 rates better in the durability test but after using the 476 and the 915 on my Focus ST .. the 915 never let me down
I also noticed that the 915 sheeted the water off alot better than the 476 . The 915 also repelled dust better . Very handy to know is a climate like SA
Oh and the 915 smelt better ... The 476 to me smells just like detergent ..

I would compare the 915 to a premium wax like SV or RG the way it gets applied
Its def a gem with regards to best bang for you buck. Id even go as far as saying it will knock the socks off the high end stuf

and even works well on rims - LOL

So to be fair i think iv got quite a bit of experience regarding this product ..and my vote still stands with the 915 Bluebiggrin

Oh and before I go .... Dont go by what you read about Colli .. Go on your gut feel ...

RE: Collinite launch promo
Thanks for the post Nick - I wasn't questioning your experience with the wax (you are after all the local wax connoisseur), just wanted to know the reasons behind your comment.

I firmly believe this holds true for any detailing product - too many purchases are made based on marketing blurb/hype.

RE: Collinite launch promo
@Nick I just have a question on the first review you performed on 915 and 476s it states that 476s was far easier to remove "buff" compared to 915. Is this still the case? Cause here you mention that 915 is allot easier to remove over 476s?

RE: Collinite launch promo
Thanks Guys ....We all one big happy family here Bluebiggrin
Dont stress Woodie ... Forums dont have emotions Bluebiggrin

@Kido ...My initial thoughts regarding the 476 were pretty good
But after trying the 915 it left alot to be desired. When i look at a wax i have 3 main things in mind like most people ...

1. The ease of application and removal - 915 is better . 476 required some more elbow grease and alot more rubbing to remove and felt very stiff during application . Its kinda remindes me of dry tooth paste

2. Durability - The 915 Kept beading for alot longer .. for some reason the 476 just vanished and didnt last

3. Dust repelant - The 915 seemed to repel the dust better and the car seemed cleaner for longer

What makes the 915 easier to remove is the amount of Carnuba in the forumla. The 476 has less carnuba and makes it harder to apply and remove .. The biggest issue regarding reviews from the UK etc is the difference in weather . Our climate is hot and dry ... the UK is hot and wet ( Im thinking Samba rub here Bluebiggrin )

Look either waxes will make a great choice. Its just the 915 makes more sense .
I also think the 915 is more of a "premium wax" as the 476 is more for a beginner and not really a OCD ( Obsessive compulsive detailer )

Ask away if you guys have any more questions Bluebiggrin
