Forum member cellphone register
We all own at least one. Use them for receiving and making calls. Some even use it to access Waxon.
  • What cellphone(s) are you using?
  • What will you be getting on your next upgrade?

I toggle between a Sony Ericsson X1 and a Apple iPhone 3G.

I am envious of the Waxon Forum Crackberry Messaging Club so I am keen to get a Blackberry handset so that I too can learn the secret handshake.

Currently using Blackberry 8310, but its very tired, they nice machines but they dont last well under heavy use. I dont really get upgrades, but I'm motivating for a Motorola Droid/Milestone as soon as they land (Around Feb)

I was using a Blackberry Javelin (8900) for a while. That's been handed over to my wife and I'm using a Bold (9000).

Both function well and are sufficient for my needs (e-mail on the move, IM and occasional browsing).

HTC Hero a brilliant pc of machinary and technology in one out performs my previous HTC Tytn II in everyway. The best internet surfing device yet both in navigation control and vivid images. It has all the bells and whistles from gtalk, gmail, exchange mail, skype etc.etc.etc.

Taken from Stuff

Gadget of the year
HTC Hero

No smartphone floored us in the way the Hero did this year. It transformed Google’s Android
OS from also-ran into genuine contender, and proved its mettle by squaring up to the iPhone 3GS without the slightest whimper. Sure, the iPhone may have sold by the tankerload and wowed us with its apps, but it was an evolution of an already excellent gadget. Conversely,
our Hero came from nowhere with its social networking integration, its multi-touch interface and superior multimedia skills. It’s the only mobile we’d consider getting over an iPhone
– and that’s really saying something.

As a recent convert to the crackberry landscape I can honestly say I don't think I will be looking at another cell phone brand for quite some time to come Bluebiggrin

Siya, the local chapter of the crackberry GF A usergroup is lagging with a low EE score....It's about time you joined Bluebiggrin

Gf has the crackberry 8900. It's like her dedicated line to facebook...
The email integration is nice and generally the speed of the phone is much better than my E65 but there's a huge lack of apps compared to iPhone. They just released "blackberry app world" in SA like 2 weeks ago or so and there's like 5 apps on there. I read an article saying the iPhone store just passed 100,000. Played with iPhones a bit and the touch screen works really well. Seems that everybody is either raving about their iphone or blackberry but so difficult to choose...

Android is the future, I see Samsung have already proposed a phase out of WM.
Its free and google will develop it into a powerful OS as in its lifecycle it will merge into Chrome OS. I wont be suprised when we start to see cars running skinned Andriod pretty soon.

I got the latest 2008 Nokia silver phone, it has a full alphabet and number key pad, it rings, vibrates, and it even lights up, also has an alarm function, as well as reminders, and to top that feature packed list it has a radio, and built in speaker ... respectful!

What I have read is that Gameloft are ditching Android and concentrating on the iPhone, but that is obviously only from a gaming perspective.

I got myself a Nokia E63, and it is everything that I expect from a phone. It does what I expect, when I expect it.

Not like my old samsung omnia POS!

I currently have no plans to upgrade, I am just perfectly happy Bluebiggrin
