BMW 320D - Help me....lol
Hello guys

Got a call this morning from a guy who lives down the road from my mum in Durbanville who desperately needs his car detailed....

Heres the catch...............

Its Black.
Its Metallic
Its the new shape - 2007 model
Its a BMW

Bawling

Don says Im going to die. My rotary polisher is quivering in the corner and I have some new polishes and other goodies arriving from Poor Boys who have given me brilliant service and advice Clap

So what to do? Anybody got any tips for how to deal with ultra hard paint? My rotary was fine on a newish Audi and gave decent correction but how will it fair on a BMW? Its a 4000RPM thing....

Help me out. I want flake pop and exceptional beading. Don has given me a Chemical Boys polish he reckons will do the job well. Any other suggestions?

Mike

I've tried Chemical Guys Diamond Cut as well as laser buff!
But for the task at hand I'd go with Menz... If you can get your hands on some!

And don't forget to post pics!!!

Is this the 12v rotary that you plug into the cigar lighter?

Hey guys

I think Don has given me the laser buff (Not picked it up yet but tings a bell) and he reckons that applying that with a Mothers MF applicator will prob give better correction than the rotary...

Yes its a 12V so as I have been told... It aint got much Torque. lol So I think by hand may be better.... I would get a proper machine.... But Im not comfortable about using it on other peoples cars. And I dont want to take out insurance.

**Where are my painkillas**Drool

Thanks Carn! My budget is free flowing so Im trying to stock up on a few new products... Im also doing a Porsche 911 Turbo in two weeks... Its metallic Navy Blue with carbon fibre Tech art kit....Icon9BluebiggrinUhoh2RoflClap

I look forward to hearing your thoughts Carn.

And I will take before and after pics this timeBlah

lol, Mike, I would have suggested Menzerna providing you had a proper machine.

But as we found out, even the dewalt that Megesh had wasnt powerful enough to break down the Super intensive polish, and that in turn leaves cloudy areas on the paint surface.

The reason I suggested using MF applicators by hand, is that with that minimum speed of 4000RPM you may just end up having a beautiful hologram at the end of the day. Rather spend the bucks and get yourself a real machine, then grab a scrap panel from a body shop and start practising Wink

When it comes to paint correction, I feel that there is no substitute for hands on experience Bluebiggrin
