Killarney Race Course 2009
Hello Guys

On Saturday myself and a good friend spent the day at Killarney Race Course here in Cape Town.

It was a beautiful day and the Racing was superb. I finally got to meet the Liqui Moly Racing Team and was great having a look at all the automotive pornography.

We saw:

Productions Cars (Polo's, Audi A4's, BMW 3 Series, Ford Focus ST's and GTI's)
Wesbanks (V8 Monsters such as our car and others)
Superbikes
Drifters
Historics (Ferraris, Porsche etc)

Here are a few pics from the day:

The next pics are of the Liqui Moly Corvettes. As manager as such of Liqui Moly Western Cape I am proud to say that our team put on a great performance even with one of our vehicles entering the green (Albeit by accident). It was also great to meet up with the drivers and the team and to experience it all. Well done guys!

You will notice I took a few pics of the Afrox BMW 3 Series as driven by Anthony Taylor and his partner Lee Thompson. What a race for these two. After meeting Anthony (and hearing loads about his driving skill) I found it an absolute pleasure watching him maneuver his BMW through the competitors and finishing first overall. Brilliant driving skills. The only question now is when do I get a chance? Drool

We then had a bit of a performance by the drifters.... The bloke below was just plain awesome. Top skills!

Once again a brilliant day for everyone. The GTi's were awesome and even though they tried their hardest could not keep up with the only Focus ST on the track. lol

Either way it was great fun to meet the drivers, experience the rush and to be involved with both Liqui Moly and the teams.

My highlight of the day: The Audi A4 blowing its engine and synthetic oil all over the track courtesy of Indy Oil. Our biggest Competitor....

You gotta love pro-active marketing!

Nice pics. I try and always go to Killarney for the National Events.

Unfortunately I had a birthday party to go to in the afternoon so I had to give it a miss.

Yup!

They changed the engine in the space of about an hour and 15 minutes and the car was back on the track. It did surprisingly well I think. The other car had its gearbox changed also...
