Importing detailing products
Anybody looking at the Rand trading against major currencies today? Not pretty at all:

US Dollar: R9,36
British Pound: R16.33
Euro: R12.80

Am I wrong in assuming that Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 will retail above R380 for 500ml?

Don, I hope you hedged yourself or you have already paid for the next shipment.

RE: Importing detailing products
LOL, Thank god I dont pay for the shipments, and yes all the stuff was paid for before the proverbial "rand" hit the fan.

Considering Jetseal retails for $54 per 16oz (480ml) it will be around R500 for 500ml.

I'll see about retailing it in 250ml maybe

RE: Importing detailing products
250ml bottles would be the ideal size.

Do you know when the stock will arrive at Poor-Boys SA? I hope it will arrive before you fly out to Jo'burg on 1 November. You can fit my bottle of Jetseal, Carnauba QD and Ez Creme in your toiletry bag (sorry, trying to save on postage costs). Just make sure my microfibers and 50/50 applicator are not stashed next to your jocks in your suitcase.

Ya it sucks...I had to pay for a UK shipment this am and have another one to pay for shortly...I am hoping it recovers slightly later in the week Icon9

Siya if you'd like some samples of the stuff I got in from the US just shout, JL rekons the 4 Star Paint Protection has a very similar look to Jetseal, only issue he had with it was the 24hr time between coats Wink

Thanks Carn, which online store are you buying from? I will share postage costs if they stock products I am looking for.

RE: Importing detailing products
I'm getting some stuff from www.autoperfection.co.uk

Jim's website (Jim is the owner) isn't that fantastic and his product line-up on there is pretty bland, but he can source almost anything thats available in the UK and his prices are far better than I have seen on other UK online stores Wink

None of the 3M items I want are available in the local range unfortunately and 3M SA is unwilling to special order them Hammerhead
