Protection detail: Mitsubishi Evo IX
There was a small window of time to squeeze a protection detail. I machine polished the car in January 2008 and the owner asked me to tidy up a few defects that have developed over the months. There was no time for a full blown machine session so I took on this following process.

Washing
Meguiars Shampoo Plus using the two bucket system spread with a Meguiars Microfiber wash mitt. Dried with a Meguiars Water magnet, I have given this towel the benefit of doubt for years and I am now convinced that it's rubbish. It will soon be replaced and reduced to mag duty.

Wheels
Sprayed Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner and agitated with a couple of brushes and Meguiars Lambs wool mitt soaked in Meguiars Shampoo Plus. I struggled to fit the Mothers long handle brush between in the wheel wells. It was tight in there.

After rinsing and drying, I coated the mags with Meguiars CleanerWax paste.

Polishing
Cracked out the Makita BO6040 polisher and Meguiars W7000 cutting pad to buff out stubborn water marks on the hood. Tried Menzerna Intensive Polish which produced decent finish but the water marks remained. Decided to bump up to my compound of choice, Meguiars M105. I love this product, it works quickly and leaves a finish that is up there with paint cleaners like M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish.

The rest of the car was polished using Werkstat Prime Strong (an All-in-one product) on a yellow applicator pad. This was also used to clean glass.

Dressing
Tyres dressed with Meguiars High Endurance Tire Gel and the trim was fed with Meguiars M40

Protection
Paint was sealed with Chemical Guys 5050 concours wax

Apologies for the poor quality snaps, still using my cell phone camera

Very nice work Siya Clap

The 50/50 gives a nice depth and wetness to the finish Drool

Great finish Siya. Bluebiggrin Seems the 5050 has left the paint wet as David mentioned. Bluebiggrin Certainly trying to decide which wax to purchase now for my Magic Black Sportline.
