My 2nd Detail - What did I get myself in for.

Exclamation My 2nd Detail - What did I get myself in for.
A friend of mine is wanting to trade in his Landrover Discovery on something different and wants to make it more appealing to buyers. Now this is a farm vehicle, so I knew I was in for a rough time but little did I know how much of a rough time.

There were some serious scratches and swirling all over the body. I did what I could with what I had. The interior was another story...oh my. The wheel arches were so badly eaten by the sun(visible in pics) that there was nothing that could be done to save them.

The process involved a massive cleandown of the interior and exterior. More time was needed on the interior than I thought could ever be. The dust was endless. A claying to remove contaminants, which there was a lot of, then correction and polish with the Megs UC. I managed to remove most of the imperfections but some where just way too bad for me. Then finished of with CG Ultimate Top Coat Sealant. Thankfully my friend stuck around to help so the two man team made it easier but there was still a huge amount of work that was done.
The difference was incredible, the work really brought the colour and life back to the paint. The difference after just the clay was amazing.

It may not be perfect or up to the professional standards that you guys achieve but I am hugely proud of the turnaround we gave it.

Thanks for reading.

Wow, that interior looked bad. Great turnaround. I'm sure it was worthwhile from a sales value point of view. I hope your friend gives you a share of the extra.

Your certainly are a brave detailer diving into that job. A really good turnaround. As some of the other posters have said -your mate needs to give you a share of the increased selling price that the detail will result in.

Considering how it started, that is a wonderful result. Looks like a completely different vehicle.

Very well done IMHO Bluebiggrin
