The tailights are extremely easy to remove, wont even take you a minute!!! You just need the correct spline key to remove the bolts... I just vacumed the interior and gave it a wipe down, thats all it needed!!!

I had 2 Hankooks (225/40/18) on my previous GTI after I had a 6 inch bolt go through one of my tires. Never had any issues with them although I only covered around 10k km with them before flogging the car
