Some of you may recognize some of the upcoming pics from the previous 'Teaser' thread I posted around a week or so back. We had a bit of an elderly goose in for some much needed TLC Bluebiggrin

The car in question is a Mercedes 560 SEC, year model unknown but these were produced between 1988 and 1992 or thereabouts so it's around 15 to 20 years old I guess. All in all the previous owner/s have kept the car in pretty good condition but having been over the whole car it has definately had some work done to it at some stage. Speaking of work I might add that the owner has had around R150k's worth of engine work done and the old girl puts out around 280kw or so Icon_jaw

Products used include...

General:
Meguiars NXT Wash
Poor-Boys Clay (thanks for the sample Don :waveyBluebiggrin
Meguiars Quick Detailer
Meguiars APC
Menzerna SIP
Presta Compound

Wheels and Tires:
Sonax Xtreme Rim Cleaner
Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel
Mother's Fenderwell Brush
Mobile-Image Detail Brushes
Moto Quip Spoke Brush
Smartwax Rimwax
Various Microfibers

Interior:
Meguiars APC 10:1
Vanish Carpet and Stain Remover
Jeff's Werkstat Satin Prot
Meguiars Leather Cream
Various Microfibers and terry towels

Glass:
Sonax Glass Cleaner
Microfiber Glass towels

Tools:
B&D PW1400 Pressure Washer
Gardena 5lt Pump Sprayer
Fragram Rotary
Makita 9227 Rotary
Lake Country Purple Foamed Wool Pad
Lake Country CCS Orange Pad
DD Waffle Weave Drying towels
Meg's Waffle Weave towels (shuts and wheels)
Meguiars Slide Lock Detail Brush
Various microfibers

Anyways on to the actual detailing, not much in the way of pics on this one as it was done in stages as there was considerable work required and the owner told us to take as long as we need Clap

This old girls paint was as hard as nails and required a combo of Presta Compound on Purple Foamed Wool and Orange LC pads followed with up to 2 hits of Menz Sip on Orange LC pads again Hammerhead

Polishing

Before

After Wool & Presta

Wheels

Next up was the wheels, again some of you may recognize these pics from my Smartwax Rimwax thread but here they are again anyways...Anyone who hasn't used the Rimwax, you don't know what you missing Clap

Interior

With the polishing out of the way we turned our attention to the interior. Again no before pics but a quick 50/50 of the carpets while cleaning...

And some finished shots of the interior

LSP

The LSP of choice for this one was 2 coats of 4 Star, the more we are using the 4 Star the more we are loving the finish it produces and the lovely wetness it adds to the paint. I'll let the pictures do the talking...

RE: Mobile-Image : 560SEC
Thanks guys Bluebiggrin

@ Don, yes this one caught us off guard Hammerhead

@ Calypso I think so, it has had some spray work done so I can't be certain but the engine bay does match the rest so I assume its the original colour Wink

@ Springbok if there is enough interest we can get some in from JL. We going to need a new bottle soon as this one of ours is almost kaput. Very wicked sealant indeed and one I am loving more and more the more I use it Drool

RE: Mobile-Image : 560SEC
According to JL the finish is almost on par with 109, pricewise however the 4* pwns the 109. The only drawback to the 4* is the 24hr curing time between coats and the fact that during that 24hrs it shouldn't come into contact with water. Not the end of the world but not ideal either Wink
