Golf 5 GTi - Reflex Silver
Hi Everyone,
Cape Town was greeted by a crisp clear and beautiful day on Saturday morning and i was off to an early start to detail a GTi. The main concern for the client was the state of the headlights on the car. And boy they did need a lot of work. The pictures dont fully show just how bad the lights were. The rest of the Car got a typical Vincent treatment 1. Wash with a mix of Hyper Wash and APC 2. Clay with Meguiars aggressive Clay 3. Menz SIP on Orange Lake Country Pad 4. Meguiars M80 Speed Glaze on the Yellow Polishing Pad 5. BlackFire Wet Diamond Sealant with the G220 and Black Finishing Pad Total time worked on the Car - 7 hours Light Before and After another And then onto the Final pics ... Not much in the form of Before pics - Really hard to get on Silver Cheers, Vincent West Vincent West Cell : 078 457 2137 http://www.ultimateshine.co.za |

Dejavu
Well done Vincent! I know it is really difficult to capture the improvement on a silver car but it looks great Did you use Plasti-X for the lights? They came out like new! Cheers, Paul |

RE: Golf 5 GTi - Reflex Silver
Hi PaulVW, Well I ended up doing a bunch of things on the lights... Started off with Wet Sanding using 2000 grit paper... then onto 2500 then finally with 3000 grit paper... Then Lake Country Orange Spot pad with menz SIP then onto Lake Country White Spot pad and Meguiars Plastic Cleaner and finally Meguiars Plastic Polish for Optical Clarity. took me quite some time to get this right I must say.

Thanks for the feedback Vincent! Sounds like a hell of a lot of work but they look awesome! Can you perhaps tell me where I can buy that fine paper (>2000) here in Cape Town? I can only find 1200 where I normally shop... |

Nicely done Vincent
As Paul mentioned silver is not the most rewarding colour to work on but you achieved a nice, glossy finish. Impressive turnaround on the headlights as well! David : 083 642 2118 www.mobileimage.co.za |
