20 Cars ,7 Days Extremely Contaminated.Detailed by Chemical Guys & Smartwax S.A
Hi Guys,
Man have i got a detail thread for you guys. I recieved a call from one of our clients and i had been told that there are 500 brand new cars that had been standing in the Durban harbor for the past two years. 20 of them had been taken to a dealership where Moe and i had setup our team.Thinking that they are brand new cars, the detail wouldnt be that bad. But when we had a look at them they were totaly Contaminated, rusted, windows were stained and the plastic film that gets put over the car before it docks on to the ship that had melted onto the paint. The cars were so bad that there was fungi growing on the edges of the rubbers. So here it began,First up was our APC from CG Green clean a very powerfull product can be used on the body of the car to take off the grime and dirt which made things a little easier as it is very gentle on the paintwork. On the wheels and wheel arches as well as the calipers to get them brand spanking new we used the Mag wheel cleaner from Last Touch one of my favourite products that works miracles. After that we shampoo'd the car with CG extreme wash that gave the cars an extra boost to get out the finer details that we missed out on the first step. A clay proccess was then applied using Smartclay , the cars were pretty contaminated but the clay paid off and started working beautifully with the CG LUBER(Dont get the wrong idea) These are pics after the steps applied above The products that we love best are the Cg correction polishes 700,721 and 778 is because the working time and durability of the products is just like no other that we have tried,The dust is extremely minimal and the extra gloss and depth is just stunning. This is what we had left on the paint after the whole cleaning proccess. @ first was correction no 700 ,this was basically the first major test we ran along with the orange hex logic pad. The orange pad along with the polishing pad conditioner and 700 seemed to work well on the contaminated paint, the machine at first felt alitlle harsh due to the paint being sticky, However due to the lubrication it eased out and started removing imperfections,Boy were we happy! The next step was to try and clean up all the compounding marks , so we put correction 721 and still orange hex logic pad to the test, the results were phenominal the metalic sparkle started to show, there was alittle swirl but nothing correction 3 with green hex logic could not remove. The finish was great and very reflective, guys CG`S correction polishes worked truley amazing . check out the photos: A reflection shot off the black geely And that is that i do not want to ever see a China Geely for the rest of my life cause ive been getting nightmares about these damn cars! BTW they selling those cars now brand new starting from R74 000.00. Crazzzeee |

Awesome turn around Naush! Are those reflection shots after polishing only or after LSP? What was the LSP of choice btw? |

Mixed emotions from my side. It's always good to see top quality detailing work, however it really seems wasted on that POS car.

no thank you, they can keep their vrot cars, looks nice now but this is reality that new cars face, they stand in open yards getting abused
