RE: Hi all
Hi
I was busy checking up your profile on DB. I see that you were pondering a Flex 3401/3. Did you ever get it, because I am interested in one. |

RE: Hi all
Haven't bought one yet unfortunately. Have all the paperwork and quotes at the office from the local agents, around R3500 for the 3403 rotary and R4000 for the 3401 orbital. Both are awesome machines but in the end I will more than likely go with the rotary
![]() Which model are you keen on getting ? David : 083 642 2118 www.mobileimage.co.za ![]() |

RE: Hi all
Im probably gonna get the 3401. I want something that can do the job got a rotary and a dual action machine. And sure i know its not as aggressive as a rotary in heavy correction, but atleast you have the safety of the dual action. Im not too sure if the Flex 3403 is a great choice in a rotary though, its min start speed is 1100rpm, which is pretty fast as far as min speeds go.

Carn Wrote:Hey guys, quick hello to everyone. Great to see you here Carn, when are you and your partner (the guy from the Renault Club) going to hook up another detailing day? You guys achieved great results last year, just before the club F1 day. Thought you had your own Flex dual action polisher. |

RE: Hi all
@ Freerider : The orbital is expensive as far as orbitals go. I think the correction ability of the Flex would be pretty much on par with a Makita 6040 in forced rotation mode so I dunno if it is worth the almost R1500 premium over the Makita.......Will get some prices on a bulk order of say 3 machines to see if we can squeeze some more discount out of them
![]() @ Calypso : The 1100rpm min setting is apparently 900rpm's on 220V versions and only the 110v versions are 1100rpm's. Also I asked on one of the forums, the 1100/900 rpm is the maximum NO LOAD (no pad or backing plate and off the surface) speed with the trigger fully depressed, you can feather the trigger to get anywhere from 0-900/1100rpms with it on the slowest settings. According to the guys who have used them the speed setting isn't an issue.......Still awaiting confirmation from the local agents however on the min speed for the SA model as well as the speed control trigger ![]() @ Starvekos : We don't have the Flex DA, Rustbucket has a rotary and then we had the old Shield orbital. As for another detailing day I dunno, will have to put up some sort of feeler thread and see who is keen on coming ![]() David : 083 642 2118 www.mobileimage.co.za ![]() |

RE: Hi all
It's a good machine, no doubt about it. For me however I think I would prefer the versatility of the rotary rather than being limited (albeit only slightly) with the Flex DA
