RE: LC + KevSTer and the Pigs Ear
Awesome job Guys... !!!
My bud (colleague) has a Focus ST ... Think it's the same colour ... Will be sending the link to him ... Show him how his ST should look!! Hehe!!! He just had his rims sprayed black , calipers painted yellow, brake lights "tinted" a darker shade and that lighter grey trim around the lights in the bumpers sprayed black as well ... Looks a bit "wilder" now ... In a good way obviously!!! Just a noobie Q ... I see lots of pics of clay bars after claying ... Highlighting the positive effects of claying ... But... Do/did you toss the clay afterwards, or is it good to go for another round or two??? (after lube and kneading it some more???) regards AJ |

RE: LC + KevSTer and the Pigs Ear
@ Dood - The 3 headed light is a normal Roof light - 3 Halogen spots
@ Onyx - When you used to a DA a Rotary is like learning to walk again I tried using it but got irritated with it and finished up using the Flex After speaking to David he said I should give it another go using the 3m pads The things i battled with was heat . The roatary gets so hot so quick , One Big plus is the lack of vibration .. The Flex vibrates the K*K out of you ... Oh and the Fes is really light But i had issues with the pads doing the Bucking Bronco on me @Jughead - Yes we toss the clay afterwards . But your could use it on Rims if you wanted |

Nice work guys - I love the reflection shots.
Nick - I know that you're not a big fan of the 2009 POTY (Sonax Xtreme Wheel Cleaner). WHat have you replaced it with and what was your process on these rims? |

RE: LC + KevSTer and the Pigs Ear
@ Calypso - No, sorry Bud no action pics
@ Springbok - Thanks @Woodie - I still use Prepsol . I spray prepsol on the rims and leave it to dwell for 10min ,, Then get a bucket with CWG and wash the rims using cloths and varius brushes .. After that i just hose them down with my Karcher |

RE: LC + KevSTer and the Pigs Ear
Hi Lambchop
Did you also clean the inside of the wheel archs? i.e. spay with undercaridge spay etc...to make it look black OR did you wash with a sponge and spray down accordingly.... is making the undercaridge and wheel archs clean and black important when it comes to detailing Many thanks. |

(20-04-2010 07:57 AM)jagged Wrote: Hi Lambchop It depends how hard core you are. To many detailers it spoils the whole effect of a beautifully detailed car if the inside of the wheel arches are dirty or dull. It's the finishing touches that count. Like the door shuts or inside the bonnet. So yes, IMHO it is important. In "full on" concours judging you are required to jack up the front LH side, put it on axle stands and remove the front LH wheel. This allows the judges to check the wheel arch, suspension and brake calipers. |
