2010 E90 320i - Protection Detail - andrewbuch - 14-12-2011 12:40 AM

So bright & early tomorrow I will be giving the E90 some love. I just hope it stops raining by then as its pouring now..

As I will be using this car Next week to the coast due to my accident on Monday, I decided it needs a good clean before then.

The paint is in fairly good condition (car has only 17K km's) so I wont be doing any paint correction (Also because I dont have the correct tools for this yet & My Bionic arms have not arrived yet).

I will start with the Usual, 2BM TDM wash, Engine spray down, Clay, then wash again, then I will apply Either colli #845 or #476 - Have not decided yet..Also might try the colli on the wheels

for the rubber door seals I will use 303 & for the Other Black bits I will use CG's All Guard O- New Car Shine Dressing and for the tires I will use Smart Dressing

Then on Thursday I will do the Interior.. Which will involve a wipe down with a weak APC solution & application of the CG's All Guard O- New Car Shine Dressing.

Pictures will follow tomorrow afternoon/evening

I chose the perfect day for this, my moms god son came to visit & he is a physio Bluebiggrin so I got a free massage when I finished the car Bluebiggrin

Took me 4 hours to wash, clay, wax, engine, treat trim & 1.5Hours yesterday for interior.

Busy with photos now Bluebiggrin

So to start with the car looked like this.
Normal dirt & stuff

And the Pollution marks that are visible on white cars.

I started with pressure washing the car first & then “foaming” it with Maxi suds II & let it sit while I got the buckets ready.
I then used various brushes & 1:10 APC for around badges & in gaps & door Jambs
The Engine I used APC 2:3.5 & brushes where needed
I then hosed all down again & hand washed with 2B TD M
Pulled the car in the Garage & Clayed it, now the car is fairly new so the Clay did not catch much as there was not much to start with
I re-washed the car & dried it with MF towel it was back into the Garage for the Wax
I decided to use the Colli #476 , I found it easy to apply & remove
Then used Colli #845 for the Mags
CG’s New car shine dressing was applied to all black bits & Smartdressing applied to tires

Yesterday I did the Interior, which was not bad to begin with. So just a wipe down with APC 1:10 and then applied CG’s New car shine to everything & CG’s Liquid leather to leather

Results: (Point & Shoot & midday sun not best for photos)

Just gave the car a wash after the 2300Km road trip & it living outside since the 19th Dec

Then I gave it another coat of the #476 as the water seemed to not be beading as it should have, as I think I went a bit light with the wax last time. I then pulled it out & sprayed it down & was truly amazed by the water sheeting properties of the #476

The #845 on the wheels did seems to help with the amount of brake dust the wheels had accumulated during the trip so again I will say wax your wheels, it helps Bluebiggrin

Thanks, I am getting there & learning all the time. Have realised that the CG's New car dressing makes the Dash too Shiney for my liking, Have the 303 that I will try next

Washed the car yesterday, I was amassed at the ability to get the "black pollution" stains off with just the pressure washer, this wax is awesome.. & then for good measure I gave it a coat of #845
