Expressed on a scale of 1 to 100, where 100 indicates no colour shift, a low CRI rating suggests that the colours of objects will appear unnatural under that particular light source. CRI is a unit of measure that defines how well colours are rendered by different illumination conditions in comparison to a standard (i.e. a thermal radiator or daylight). CRI is calculated on a scale from 1-100 where a CRI of 100 would represent that all colour samples illuminated by a light source in question would appear to have the same colour as those same samples illuminated by a reference source. The SunGun's lamp has a CRI of 90-95 (sunlight CRI 100) So if you're comparing like with like what is this lamps CRI? RE: DIY Sun Gun - springbok - 27-02-2011 05:27 PM What a clever idea. RE: DIY Sun Gun - zckid - 27-05-2011 05:17 AM Thanks for the link Onyx. ![]() I've gathered all I could to build one: a dead hair dryer, a 5 watt LED bulb and a base I was advised by a friend to use the LED bulbs instead of the halogen bulb. more light, longer durability and less heat. [img] ![]() ![]() ![]() Excuse me for the quality of the pics ![]() Still the difference is evident. Thanks pal My 1st try with the home made sun gun was in the early dawn (everybody else sleeping :drool ![]() I washed n clayed the boot lid of my uncle's Honda Civic. Note the moist, it was difficult to see the swirls under the fluorescent tubes. With the Led, it was clear. ![]() ![]() After a few compounding passes ![]() I set to work then. in the shade, the compounded section was superb but in the sun, the holograms were obvious. I didn't have to polish it after. The car was sold. ![]() If you are trying to build one, try compare a 10 watt LEd bulb with a 5 watt. ![]() RE: DIY Sun Gun - onyx - 28-05-2011 08:16 AM Nicely done! Swop that with the wifeys hair dryer and have a laugh ![]() |
