Porsche 911 Carrera - Vincent - 20-09-2010 10:41 AM I get to Detail this Stunning example of a 911 every 6 months or so to keep it in tip top shape, This would be my 3rd visit to this car. There is literally 1 single little Dent on this car... Otherwise it is near 99% perfect. A Truly magnificent kept car. I blustery and very cold Cape Town Sunday was the order of the day for me. I used the Polishing Pad with Menzerna Final Finish Combo. And LSP was Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0. And lastly Cheers, Vincent RE: Porsche 911 Carerra - Wells - 20-09-2010 11:01 AM Nice RE: Porsche 911 Carrera - calypso - 20-09-2010 02:48 PM Great work. RE: Porsche 911 Carrera - Vincent - 21-09-2010 01:56 PM Hi Woodie, Yes that is a single stage paint. Made my Yellow pads nice and red. Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback RE: Porsche 911 Carrera - Woodie - 22-09-2010 07:04 AM (21-09-2010 01:56 PM)Vincent Wrote: Hi Woodie, Yes that is a single stage paint. Made my Yellow pads nice and red. Turned your polishing pads into cutting pads . On a serious note though, when you next get to treat this old lady you should consider adding a pure polish step - something like M81, Deep Crystal Polish or the fabled M07. The single stage paints usually respond very well to a pure polish. RE: Porsche 911 Carrera - Vincent - 22-09-2010 07:57 AM Hi Woodie, Yes the 2nd time i treated this car I used the Meguiars M07 show Car Glaze and applied it by hand. That was after about 3 months after the 1st treatment I had done. This time the car had been standing uncovered exposed to elements for about 8 months I would say. So the paint had really lost it's shine and lustre. hence why I decided to go with the Meguiars Yellow Polishing pad and Menzerna Final Finish Polish with a 40% cut. I also never went beyond speed 2 on the Makita and kept the pressure very light on the head of the machine. I do realise that with a car being this old that one needs to really be gentle and careful as not to remove too much paint from the car. I also ended up using 3 pads over the car. As soon as I could see that the pad was getting stained I would change over to a fresh pad. This was purely a 2 step Detail... step 1 the Menzerna Final Finish and step 2 the wolfgang deep gloss sealant 3.0 RE: Porsche 911 Carrera - Audioholic - 22-09-2010 12:30 PM Stunning! is this the same car thats in the megs advert in some magazines? RE: Porsche 911 Carrera - Vincent - 22-09-2010 12:33 PM Hi Audioholic, No i dont think this car is used in ads. The owner of the car is more overseas than here in SA. Hi Brother looks after the car for him. I will be doing his Scooby WRX next week I think. RE: Porsche 911 Carrera - Torres1 - 22-09-2010 01:47 PM Nice work Vincent. Classic indeed.
