03 Maxda MX-5 - Wayno - 30-08-2010 11:42 AM So this past SAT i tackled this Black Mazda MX-5, the car was really badly swirled!!! The client really looked after the car well, but their wash techniques obviously needed a bit of refining!!! Managed to sort it out quite nicely though!!! ![]() (Unfortunately i had the incorrct lense for the freaking camera so my pics are not that great... ![]() ![]() One or two quick pics before beginning: ![]() ![]() ![]() Started by cleaning up the wheels, arches, badges, ect.... ![]() I then pulled the car into the garage and clayed it, this was a fairly quick and easy process, not too much contamination on the car!!! Once that was done i inspected the damage!!! And DAMN was there plenty!!!! Swirls all over the price!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I then started the correction phase, i had to make 3 passes on each panal to get some decent results!!! Started with CG N0.3 on a orange Hex Logic pad to remove the swirls, that left alot of marring, then refined that with Megs UC on a white polishing pad, followed by AG SRP on a black finishing pad for a bit of shine!! Results where decent!!! :smtp25 (i must say im looking forward to recieving my stock of Menz polishes, hopefully that will make these kind of details easier in the future!!!!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Finished!!!! I then gave the car a final wash to remove all the polish residue, ect... once it was dried i applied a layer of Sonax Extreme Paste Wax to the body and wheels!!! while that was setting i finished off the wheels, chrome sections, ect!!! Wax was then removed by hand!!! Some completed pics!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: 03 Maxda MX-5 - Jughead - 30-08-2010 12:11 PM Nice results Wayno. RE: 03 Maxda MX-5 - PaulVW - 31-08-2010 07:34 AM Very nice transformation Wayno ![]() Well done! The owner must be very happy. RE: 03 Maxda MX-5 - Woodie - 31-08-2010 07:40 AM Top notch job Wayno. I love that very first, front-on 'after' shot. One bit of advice on the photos - take the car for a short drive before taking the photos of the wheels. Light application of the brakes removes all the surface corrosion off the brake discs and makes for a better visual impact. RE: 03 Maxda MX-5 - Wayno - 31-08-2010 07:53 AM Thanks for the kind words guys!!! Appreciate it!!! ![]() @Woodie, thanks for the advise, i will most def keep that in mind next time around!!! I must admit the disks do look kak in comparison to the rest of the car.... LOL..... RE: 03 Maxda MX-5 - Vincent - 01-09-2010 08:17 AM Excellent Work Wayno. Car looks 100 times better. Well done RE: 03 Maxda MX-5 - Delta - 01-09-2010 11:01 AM awesome work, ![]() Not much comes close to black when it "pops". |
