I though Paul Dalton charged 7500 on the Zonda

This sounds like someone I know Rofl

"Despite spending his days cleaning other people's supercars, Mr Sahota is currently car less, having recently sold his boyhood favourite car, the Mk I Volkswagen Golf GTI."

I must admit that I would be concerned about the durability of the paint finish on a Ferrari or Lambo once it has been through this - "But the £7,200 service involves sanding the car down twice to make sure the paint is exactly the same thickness all over the car, then polishing it by machine in three stages."

Paul Dalton's rate varies according to the jobs. If you look on his website the most expensive listed is only £1500, after that it goes POA. But wetsanding the whole car to kill orange peel is a little mad.

As Mr Royce used to say to qualify the price RR charged or their vehicles, "The price is set by what the market will stand"

So if yo can get it go ahead and charge 7,500 GBP (hint you need to do some extensive marketing first Wink

I know. Bluebiggrin

Since I've never done machine polishing, I always wonder about polishing over edges. Like in the video on the edge of the wheel-arch. What's the proper technique there?

With body creases and edges you just need to worrk about friction and contact area. The 2 generate together along with had aggressiveness and pressure generate heat and cut. So careful attention must be paid when going over areas which reduce the contact patch of the pad or force the pads pressure it be uneven.
End of the video looks like final polishing, so for a soft pad and gentle polish thats fine.

As Calypso mentioned it is usually advisable to avoid edges and sharp creases in the bodywork. When using a soft finishing pad, as in the clip above, it is not as critical providing you keep an eye on what you are doing Thumb
